A BIT OF BACKGROUND
Hi there! My name is Stephanie Mayo and I have been a cat owner and cat lover my entire life! My decision to become a cat breeder stems from my deep love and passion for these incredible creatures. I've always been fascinated by their unique personalities, charming demeanor, and unconditional love and companionship. My first purebred cat was a ragdoll named Peaches. I loved her so much, and for awhile I thought I would breed ragdolls. Then a friend of mine got a Maine Coon and I fell in love. Fast forward to 2022 and I was importing my first 2 Maine Coons from over seas! I am so excited to embark on this journey and share this incredible and unique breed with cat lovers in Western Canada!
Ethical Preservation Breeding
Maine Coon Mayo Is a very small breeder of 100% European Maine Coon cats. I am registered with TICA, I only keep a few breeding cats and offer a small handful of kittens per year. This allows me to focus on the health, socialization, and well-being of our cattery. We are a new cattery and strive to bring you healthy, well socialized, and beautiful cats that are bred to standard. I focus on the European, or “wild” type (“wild look”), and prioritize heath over size. All cats are DNA tested through Wisdom Panel and are negative for the most common genetic disorders. As a responsible breeder, we carefully screen potential owners to make sure they understand exactly what is required when it comes to taking care of these animals. All of our kittens go home on a binding spay/neuter contract with a 3rd party company called SpaySecure, and all pet kittens must be altered by 5 months of age. We do this to ensure our kittens do not end up in a back-yard breeding situation. To find out more or to reserve a particular kitten, please see our FAQ section.
